Crafted Connections Philosophy
Crafted Connections – Create • Share • Connect is the belief that creativity belongs to everyone.
You do not need to consider yourself artistic, have special skills or create something perfect to experience the enjoyment and connection that can come from making something with your own hands.
Crafted Connections provides women with a welcoming space where creativity becomes an opportunity to slow down, express themselves, connect with others and make time for their own wellbeing.
Our Approach
Crafted Connections – Create • Share • Connect, our approach is simple: provide a welcoming space where women can enjoy creativity, connect with others and make time for themselves.
We recognise that every woman who walks through the door brings her own experiences, personality, abilities, interests and reasons for attending. For this reason, our workshops are designed to be flexible, inclusive, encouraging and participant-centred.
From the moment participants arrive, we want them to feel that there is a place for them at the table.
We aim to create an environment where participants feel:
- Welcomed and respected
- Included and valued
- Comfortable being themselves
- Free from judgement and comparison
- Encouraged rather than pressured
- Able to participate at their own pace
Where possible, activities can be adapted to accommodate different abilities, confidence levels and support needs.
What is _ and Isn't
Crafted Connections – Create • Share • Connect offers helps participants know what to expect and ensures the program remains a welcoming, respectful and enjoyable creative space.
What Crafted Connections IS
A Creative Wellbeing Program - Crafted Connections uses accessible art, craft, journaling, memory keeping and creative activities to encourage enjoyment, self-expression and everyday wellbeing.
A Welcoming Space for Women - It is a place where women can come together, feel included and enjoy being part of a supportive community.
An Opportunity to Connect - Workshops provide natural opportunities to meet people, have conversations, share laughter and develop friendships.
Time for Yourself - It provides dedicated time to step away from everyday responsibilities and do something enjoyable for yourself.
Creativity Without Judgement - There is no perfect result. Participants are encouraged to experiment, personalise projects and enjoy the process.
Participant-Centred - Participants have choices about how they create, whether they share, how much they participate and when they need a break.
A Place for Reflection - Some activities include optional journaling, gratitude, memory keeping, mindfulness and reflection.
A Place to Learn - Participants can explore new materials, techniques and creative interests in an encouraging environment.
A Place to Belong - Different backgrounds, personalities, experiences, abilities and creative styles are welcomed and respected.
What Crafted Connections ISN'T
It Isn't an Art Competition - There are no prizes for the "best" artwork and no comparing participants' creations.
It Isn't About Being Perfect - Projects do not need to look like the facilitator's example or anyone else's work.
It Isn't Only for "Creative People" - No previous art or craft experience is required. Beginners are welcome.
It Isn't a Traditional Art Class - Although participants learn techniques and skills, the primary focus is creativity, enjoyment, connection and wellbeing rather than formal art instruction.
It Isn't Clinical Therapy - Crafted Connections is a creative wellbeing and community participation program. It does not provide counselling, psychotherapy, diagnosis, treatment or other clinical services, and it is not a replacement for professional health or mental health care.
It Isn't Forced Sharing - Participants are never required to discuss private experiences, explain their artwork or participate in personal conversations.
It Isn't a Place for Judgement - Criticism, shaming, exclusion, discrimination and negative comparisons are not part of the Crafted Connections environment.
It Isn't About Keeping Up - Participants are encouraged to work at a pace that is comfortable for them.
It Isn't "Just Craft" - The conversation, confidence, laughter, learning, self-expression and connections made along the way can be just as meaningful.

Program Format
Crafted Connections – Create • Share • Connect is designed to be flexible, welcoming and easy to participate in. Workshops combine guided creative activities, social connection and gentle wellbeing practices in a relaxed small-group environment.
The program can be delivered as four-week series, individual workshops, seasonal programs or special creative events, allowing participants to choose the format that suits them.
Group Size
Workshops are designed for small groups, generally around 8–15 participants, depending on the activity, venue and support requirements.
Smaller groups allow time for:
- Individual facilitator support
- Relaxed conversation
- Getting to know other participants
- Working comfortably at your own pace
- Creating a friendly sense of community
Session Duration
Most Crafted Connections workshops run for approximately 90–120 minutes.
This provides enough time to settle in, learn the activity, create without rushing, enjoy conversation and finish with a short reflection.
Four-Week Series
Crafted Connections can be offered as a four-week themed series, with a different creative activity each week.
Individual Workshops
Single workshops can also be offered for participants who cannot commit to a complete series or simply want to try Crafted Connections.
